About The Artist
Nathan Beard is a visual artist based in St. Petersburg, FL. Raised on a dairy farm in western New York, Beard’s early experiences included a year as an exchange student in Egypt and two years working as a cowboy in Wyoming. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University in 2001. His professional career spans roles as an art consultant in Denver, CO (2001–2008), art installer for public and private clients in Tampa Bay (2013–2019), and Assistant Curator at the Dunedin Fine Art Center (2017–2024).
Since 2013, Beard has exhibited widely, with shows at institutions such as the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Tampa Museum of Art, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan), Gallery 221 at Hillsborough Community College, Olivet Nazarene University, Dunedin Fine Art Center, The Werk Gallery, Gallery 500, Catapult Gallery, and Brooker Creek Preserve. His work is included in numerous private and corporate collections, including Framework Group, Silversaw Residences, Grand Bohemian Hotel, Parkview Medical Center, Great Bay Distributors, B2 Communications, MHK, Penny Hoarder, Osprey Properties, Sabal Trust, and Tampa Bay Title. In January 2020, several of Beard’s large-scale paintings were selected for the Arts in Embassies program at the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador.
